Replacements, Ltd. Receives Perfect Score on HRC Corporate Equality Index

September, 2005 – The Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s WorkNet has awarded Replacements, Ltd. a perfect score on its fourth annual Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index.

Replacements, Ltd. has received a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index every year since its inception in 2002. Out of 755 companies rated in 2005, only 101 earned the perfect score of 100. Other companies earning the perfect score include Apple Computer, Best Buy, Ford Motor Co., Nike, Pepsico, SC Johnson, and Xerox.

HRC Foundation’s WorkNet is a national source of information on workplace policies and laws surrounding sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. WorkNet keeps the most comprehensive database of employers with non-discrimination policies, domestic partner benefits, employee resource groups and other policies important to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) employees, consumers and investors.

The HRC Corporate Equality Index rates companies on a scale of 0 percent to 100 percent on factors that include: whether it has a written non-discrimination policy covering sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression; whether it offers health insurance coverage to its employees’ same-sex domestic partners; and whether it declines to engage in any activities that would undermine GLBT equality.

The HRC Corporate Equality Index is applied to companies where all appropriate information has been gathered and verified. In order to receive a rating a company must be:

• A Fortune 500 company;
• One of the 200 largest privately held companies from Forbes Private 500;
• Other companies with at least 500 employees.
