When Replacements, Ltd. Imaging Department Graphic Artist Amy McCall graduated from college in spring 2008 and moved to Greensboro, NC, she found it to be a difficult transition – she felt she had left behind many friends and a whole way of life. “I decided that adopting a dog would be a good way to get a new buddy and to adjust to my new situation,” Amy said.
“I knew that I wanted a dog that was already full-grown and in need of a home,” Amy said. “I spent a pretty good amount of time looking around to find a good match.” One Saturday morning she stopped at an adoption fair at a Petsmart store. There she met “Carsyn.” “I knew nothing about her past,” Amy said, “but I couldn’t help but fall in love with her.”
Carsyn likes to keep Amy on her toes. “She’s chewed up everything from baby Jesus’s head to the bathroom plumbing,” Amy said. “She is a bed hog, terribly nosy, and a pouter.” However, Carsyn is also as full of love as a dog can be. “She has mastered the art of giving hugs,” Amy said. “Looking back over the past year, I can’t imagine my life without her, and I hope that she will be with me when I start a family some day.”
Although Carsyn does not come to Replacements, Ltd. with her on a regular basis, Amy is very grateful for the company’s pet-friendly policy. “It was originally part of what inspired me to adopt a dog,” Amy said. “It always brightens my day when I walk down the hallway and see a furry little head peeking around the corner. I think the pet-friendly atmosphere is just one example of what has made Replacements a unique and wonderful place to start my career.”
