Featured Pet (and Pet Owner!) at Replacements, Ltd.

While there are many pets in the building, there is no mistaking “Ziggy,” a.k.a. “Zig Zig,” a.k.a. “Zigfield Webster-Mauras,” a Chihuahua puppy weighing about 2 pounds sopping wet. His owner is Kevin Webster, Purchasing Coordinator at Replacements, Ltd.

Fathered by a male Chihuahua named “Oreo,” Ziggy was born to a female Chihuahua named “Trixie” – both dogs are owned by one of Kevin’s cousins. Ziggy was born on June 30, 2009, and was the only pup of the litter that survived. “My cousin wanted the puppy to go to a home where she knew he would be loved,” Kevin said. “So I offered to take him.”

“There’s nothing ‘black and white’ about Zig Zig, except for the fact that the whiskers on the left side of his muzzle are black and the whiskers on the right are white!” Kevin said. “Ziggy is all over the place! You’ll find him at home on the floor playing with his toys one minute. The next minute he’s using ‘Spencer,’ my 100-pound Lab/golden retriever mix, as a springboard to jump on the sofa! The next minute, he’s burying himself underneath his Winnie the Pooh blanket to take a nap next to me or his other daddy, Franky!” Kevin said.

“I bring Ziggy to work about 4 days a week,” Kevin said. “Having him here definitely helps with stress. The response to him being with me has been nothing shy of massive! Everyone is so accepting of him – they come by to see him, hold him, and love him.”

Kevin appreciates the Replacements, Ltd. pet-friendly policy, and is thankful that the company allows employees to bring pets to work. “Not only is Ziggy shown constant affection, he also is allowed to interact with many people and many dogs,” Kevin said. “Chihuahuas are known for being one-person, protective pets, and sometimes they are thought to be unfriendly to other dogs. Ziggy has a huge advantage coming to work with me,” Kevin said. “He has contact with all kinds of people, as well as all kinds of dogs!”

Kevin feels the praise that Replacements, Ltd. receives in the media is well deserved. “Not only does Replacements allow you to discover your personal potential in the work force, but the company also motivates you to want to be better in everyday life.
